Full-time position to work with survivors of domestic violence who are involved with the Division of Family Services (DFS) and other survivors. The Community Advocate provides survivors with ongoing support and assistance to include safety planning, advocacy, connecting survivors to community resources, assisting survivors in filing for protective orders, attending court hearings; and providing consultation and training to DFS. Community Advocate must be empathetic, team-oriented, and organized. The position requires contact with survivors in the community, some travel, documentation, and data entry. Community Advocate is co-located in 24/7 shelter and DFS offices. Preference is given to applicants with work experience in domestic violence. A related Associate's degree or equivalent and an active Delaware driver's license are required.
