People’s Place is honored to announce that its Whatcoat Social Services program was awarded a grant for $5,000 from the Potter Charity Trust Grants Fund at the CenDel Foundation, a fund of the Delaware Community Foundation. Members of the Potter Charity Trust Committee presented grants to over 20 winning organizations during a breakfast event on January 8th at the Elizabeth W. Murphey School in Dover. People’s Place Executive Director Del Failing and Whatcoat Program Director Crystal Allen-Horne were there to accept the gift.

The Whatcoat Social Services program will use the grant for its Ruth Dorsey Emergency Homeless Shelter in Dover. The shelter provides short-term emergency housing, meals, and case management for adults, families and children who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
