Avon Foundation for Women Grant presented to the SAFE Program

posted Wednesday, Nov 27, 2013

The Avon Foundation for Women recently awarded the SAFE Program a grant in the amount of $7,500 to provide sheltered families any immediate needs they require upon entering shelter..

Avon launched its "Speak Out Against Domestic Violence" campaign in 2004 and since then has donated more than $33 million dollars to this particular cause.  During the third quarter of 2013, the Foundation approved $500,000 in grants to 64 domestic violence organizations in Avon's regional locations to support direct care services to victims and their families.  This particular funding was awarded to only two domestic violence programs in Avon's southeast region which encompasses the entire Eastern Shore.

Marcey Rezac, Director of SAFE, is extremely pleased that People's Place was recognized since the selection process was so competitive.  Avon Senior Leader, Katie McGuire who presented the check, is also excited that a program in her district received this gift and hopes to continue working wtih the People's Place organization in the future.
